Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Last week I had to memorize this poem. I think what Robert Frost means in this in this poem is he stopped in the woods to admire the beauty of the woods. He thought his horse was confused because they stopped without a farm near, it was basically in the middle of nowhere. It was snowing and the wind was blowing softly. But he could not stay for long because he had promises to keep, and miles to go before he can rest. One of my favorite lines of the poem is the last stanza, "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep." because I interpreted it the easiest, I think it means that he would like to stay for longer but he can't because he has other obligations to up hold to. And it will be a long time until he can rest.
What I learned from having to memorize this poem is that I can't memorize it in one night. I knew this beforehand so I decided to learn two stanzas one night and the other two the next night, and take the third night to memorize it all. This helped a lot because I got a B as a final grade.

Holiday Season

The holiday season is my favorite season of the whole year, because it's that one time of the year when all your family from far a wide come together to spend time with each other. I have family from Guatemala and New York; all my aunts and uncles came from there just for the holidays. Even the ones that I haven't seen in years came just for the holidays. This season is also my favorite because I get money and presents from my whole family, and my family is big so I get a lot of money. Every year I always get something super cool. One of my favorite things about this season is the weather. The weather here is always hot and humid, but now it's nice and chill. And the best thing about it is there's no school for two whole weeks. During the break I spent a lot of time watching T.V., sleeping, and hang out with my friends. I also went to Orlando the day before New Year's Eve. It was my family's first time not being with the family on New Years. We went to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios both days we were there. And the day we left we went to play mini-golf at a pirate themed golf course. On the way back home it was a three hour drive so we obviously got bored along the way, so we decided to play some games which made the three hour trip seem like twenty minutes. Then the day after we got home we decided to go to the soccer field and play because I haven't played that much over the break and I had to get ready for school soccer too. That was the last fun thing I did over the break. So that's why winter break or the "holidays" are my favorite time of the year.
