Reflection of a Lesson in the Odyssey

One lesson that I took away from The Odyssey is to never anger the gods, or the people above you. If you were to anger your boss then he might fire you or make your work life bad, like making you do more paperwork or staying longer hours. In this case Odysseus angered Poseidon by blinding his son, the Cyclopes, and then taunting him. Poseidon then made it almost impossible for him and his crew to return home. It took 10 years for his crew to find Ithaca, and then it took Odysseus another 10 years to go home because of Poseidon.
